Attending #RunningRemote2024 was a blast! 3 intense days in the European capital of tech startups and innovation, while attending Enterprise Academy and co-creating a panel on "The human side of Gen AI: Consideration and approaches".
Such a perfect place to re-introduce theCoRD to the big stage of distributed teams and organisations.
As we venture deeper into the integration of AI within our organisations, it’s paramount we encourage leaders to cultivate an environment where transparency and psychological safety are at the forefront. Adopting AI is not just about harnessing new technology, it’s about ensuring that every team member is on board and moving forward together.
When considering the introduction of AI into our daily operations, the first step should be to have open discussions about the 'why' and the 'how'. This means explaining why we are embarking on this AI journey and how it will integrate into our existing processes to enhance our work, not just complicate it.
Key considerations should include identifying the specific challenges that AI is aimed to resolve, understanding the changes it will bring to our daily tasks, and openly discussing potential risks. Importantly, how will we measure the success of AI implementations? Establishing clear metrics for evaluation will help everyone recognise the benefits and feel invested in the process.
Leaders must think about the long-term, how will we continue to adapt and improve our AI capabilities? This involves not only upgrading our systems but also continuously developing our team's skills to work alongside AI efficiently.
AI should not be about chasing the next big thing or implementing technology for the sake of innovation alone. It should be about making strategic decisions that bring genuine value to our teams and help propel our organisations forward in meaningful ways.
Let’s lead with intention and empathy, ensuring that AI serves as a tool for enhancement and not a source of disruption.
